Blues Jam - Thursday February 4, 2010 Here's a few photos from the Logon Cafe Blues Jam. We usually have between 20 and 30 musicians show up to play. The house provides a PDP drum kit and a bass rig to play and the house band usually has a guitar amp you can use if you don't want to bring yours. Just bring your instruments. The Blues Jam is held on the first Thursday of every month at 8pm. The sign-up sheet goes out at 7:30pm. |

A prolific songwriter, Shake has written or co-written hundreds of melodies. Shake has played the cafe for many years and we all look forward to the show. Also pictured in this album is opening act, Joseph Dailey. Special thanks goes out to Jerry Mullin for graciously providing all of the photos for this album. |

Honkabilly Hot-Rod Party - Friday August 7, 2009 Dust off your dancing shoes and wax up the hot-rod! The Honkabilly Hot-Rod Party is an event aimed at resurrecting the by-gone days of the iconic dance bands of the 50s and 60s. For the dancers, cafe staff remove the tables in front of the band to make room for a large dance floor. A section of the parking lot is always reserved for hot-rods, classic cars, and motorcycles exclusively. On August 7, the Lava Daddys (honkabilly) and Retroactive (rockabilly) performed. |

Fred Eaglesmith Band - February 2, 2004 Fred's band is known as The Flying Squirrels or The Flathead Noodlers. Both bands have the same lineup, but play different styles. The Flathead Noodlers play bluegrass, while the Flying Squirrels play more folk and rock. An early incarnation of the band was known as The Smokin' Losers. When Fred does solo appearances he bills himself as Fred J. Eaglesmith. In addition to the songs, a typical Fred Eaglesmith show includes several lengthy between-song comic monologues by Fred. Topics in the past have included stories about crossing the U.S./Canada border, Newfoundlanders, and some friends from an Indian reserve.
Eaglesmith is the owner and president of A Major Label, which publishes his records. |
