From the sound of her father's guitar and the early morning wake up calls of Bill Monroe and Peter, Paul and Mary, her love for music began. After receiving her first guitar at the age of twelve, She knew that her heart and the guitar belonged together. After many years of writing words on paper, her first real song was born in 2001, and they've been flowing like a river ever since. She writes and sings simply because she loves it. She learned early on, that if you write music and can share it, do so. It's a great gift from God and she enjoys giving the gift of experience of life and love to others. Courtney believes in singing from the heart and if it can't be done from the heart, then it's not a song for her. To hear her sing is to hear her heart. Her music interest is anything from Creedence Clearwater to Jewel and it's kind of like our weather in Southeast Texas... if you don't like it now, something you do like will come along eventually.
