Bob Robira
Bob has been described as a storyteller with insight into the human condition. Writing and performing songs in a variety of styles, Bob (in band format) has opened for acts as diverse as Gatemouth Brown, Jimmy Buffet and Asleep at the Wheel as well performing solo shows with noted songwriter David Egan (3 time Grammy nominee) and Sam Broussard (noted songwriter and guitarist). He has recently performed solo at a new songwriter venue at the House of Blues in New Orleans and has been asked to perform at CA Guitars' Songwriter Workshop at the upcoming Festivals International (Lafayette, La.) this spring. Bob is currently booking short tours around the United States to promote his recent CD release FREETOWN described by Walter Pierce (Lafayette Daily Advertiser) as story-telling songs that are savvy in their mid-life ruminations executed with rough easy determination. Steve Picou, asst. director of the Louisiana Music Commission has described Bob as a songsmith with a great sense of melody and the ability to keep the songs interesting. Arsenio Orteza, reviewer for the Times of Acadiana has said of Bob and the CD a singer-songwriter with a roughed up Don Henley voice..... the freshness with which the melodies, the production and the low key exoticism of the instrumentation meshes is always engaging..... Bob is an accessible performer who likes to interact with his audience and who looks forward to playing new venues and meeting new people (it is where he gets his inspiration).
