Had a great time last Wednesday playing out there, really enjoy it when its just the home crowd (meaning "the staff" and the discouraging few whom had the gaul to hang around while a hurricane blew through). I read the bio of Richard Earl and it mentioned he had played with Clifton White and His Royal Knights.

Mr. Earl, I was blessed to see the band in May 1970 at a social club in Beaumont.I was a young white guy from California who was hitting the road to see America when I stopped to gas up at White's Texaco Station on Highway 90. We started talking music and Clifton invited me to see his band AND have dinner with his family at his home.

I have never forgotten his hospitality and warmth.The group ROCKED and even played a requested song of mine TWICE, "What Does it Take" by Junior Walker. An unforgettable night with a band that was the sessence of soul and R & B.

Was in to see Shake Russell not too long ago. Love what ya'll are doing. Lived in Austin for 15 years and am a big live music fan. Wish I were younger! Place really reminds me of an Austin club. Keep it up. I hope Beaumont appreciates ya'll as much as I do. If so, It should stick. See ya' again soon.
